I've been jammed up by the cops more than once... exactly four times. The cops see a flashy car... immediately they are watching and waiting. So, yes I have traffic tickets. You could say I'm a pro at this traffic school course stuff. I've had to clean up my act, I know they are watching. My guardian angel has been working overtime to keep me out of trouble. It's been my experience that alot of the online traffic schools websites are not setup properly. You have to go through several pages to find out detailed information on the courses offered. They expect you to know exactly what course you should take. The letter from the Florida DHMSV is not always clear, sometimes it just says Driver Improvement Course. The websites that a basic list with a read more link are the easiest to find out if it's the course you should take. Some sites seem to worry more about you signing up rather than finding out whether it's the right course. Wouldn't be terrible to find out you completed the wrong course? There are a lot of courses available and it can be confusing, I'll explain each course and give you tips. After having been screwed on one online traffic school I decided to give some tips on the online traffic school courses. They are all different and some are good and some aren't so hot. I'll go over each online traffic school course below and give the details to take the confusion out of the courses. Yes, I've sat through the classroom type... never again... dull, boring, and in the morning. Online I can take it at my own pace and do it when I have the time. First, don't be fooled by the "lowest cost" online driving school course, they get you one way or another. Read the website information and see if they charge for:
1. Issuing a Certificate of Completion- $10-$20
2. Florida Drivers Handbook-$10-(Should be a PDF download)
3. Delivery charges- some rates are unbelievable
4. Delivery to Clerk of Courts- rates??, some don't offer.

Florida Basic Driver Improvement- Ticket Dismissal/Point Avoidance This basically is the traffic school course if you got a traffic ticket. The good news is taking the course will remove the points and reduce your fine by 18%. If you were busted for speeding or any other moving violation this course will get the traffic ticket dismissed. Florida Basic Driver Improvement- Court Ordered- 4 Hour Course
This course is usually court ordered for any moving violation or action that is thought to be reckless. It's the Basic Driver Improvement Course with a few extras thrown in. Florida Traffic Collision Avoidance Course- 4 Hour Course
If you were unfortunate enough to be in a traffic accident , you will receive a notice stating that you must take a Traffic Collision Avoidance Course. The Florida Department of Motor Vehicles will usually give you time frame to take the TCAC. The good news is that alot of insurance companies won't raise your rates when they receive a copy of your certificate of completion for the TCAC. Florida 8 Hour Traffic School Course- 8 Hour Course
If you get a second traffic ticket within twelve months and already have taken the Basic Driver Improvement Course-this is your course. This is course is the mid level course. They have you on their radar. I'll give you some tips on this course later.
