Florida First Time Driver- D.A.T.A.-Florida Traffic School Course Print E-mail

 Jack It

  Florida First Time Drivers must complete a Drug, Alcohol and Traffic Awareness course, DATA Course for short. The Florida DHSMV also calls it Traffic Law and Substance Abuse and Education course, TLSAE course, for short. It's the same class, so don't let it confuse you. Each florida online traffic school refers to one or the other name. It's the class you have to take before you can even apply for your learners permit.

The DATA Course is a breeze, short and full of interesting information. The online DATA course can be completed in 4 to 6 hours, depending on the pace you set for yourself. You can break the DATA course up into several sessions if you want. The course will be around $35. The online traffic schools who offer "cheap DATA courses" or "cheap First Time Drivers Courses" usually have add on costs, such as Certificates of Completion for only...$20 or other fees and taxes. So basically all of the DATA courses end up being around $35.

Most online First Time Drivers Courses are set up the same. The DATA courses are a mixture of text, graphics and animation. Some sites also use video presentations. All this so you won't be bored. After registering for your DATA course check to see if your work is auto saved or saved at time intervals. No sense in doing work over. You must get at least 70% correst on the test to pass the course.

Here is the outline of the course;

Florida First Time Driver - DATA Course- 4 Hour

1. Physical effects of Alcohol & Drugs as related to the driving experience
2. Psycological effects of Alcohol & Drugs as related to your driving experience
3. The economic effects of substance abuse on the world
4. Basic traffic Laws
5. Basic motor vehicle operation

I found alot of the information and statistics interesting. But, I already knew being wasted and driving, probably wasn't a good idea. Your Certificate of Completion is usually mailed to you. Most sites usually offer the option of email for about...$10? Some online traffic schools also offer the Learners Permit test online for about $20.

When going to get your Learners Permit you'll need two forms of ID, your social security card and Mom or Dad. You have to take a forty question test on Traffic Signs and Traffic Laws. You have to get 75% correct in order to pass. You also have to take a hearing and vision test. One of your parents also has to sign a form, stating they will supervise your driving.

My sister got into a big accident six months after she got her drivers license. She had a bunch of girlfriends and they were doing the usual. My only suggestions would be not to have too many people with you and stay off the phone. My sister told me there were too many distractions and she wasn't paying enough attention. I think with experience, driving skills and what to do in different road situations, gets easier and becomes habit. Stay safe.  Good Luck on your DATA course.

Update:  A company I recommend because of their reputation and ease of use is I Drive Safely. They Offer both the D.A.T.A Course and the DMV Permit Test  online, which saves time.Find out more about their course at  Florida First Time Driver Course
